I think the mirror has put on some weight...

(-_-!) It's quite deceiving isn't it? But I really think the mirror did put on weight! If not, why did I look like I put on weight.. So much weight?!

Oh I know! It's the science of expansion and contraction! Recently the weather is damn hot!! That's why I've expanded! And the mirror has expanded too!! That explains it..

I think I should look slimmer in aircon room or maybe close to December cos that's suppose to be cooler.. I shall wait for it to arrive real quickly..

Sliding Doors

Just finished watching Sliding Doors again. It gets me wondering about many things in life. What happen if I haven't done this? What happen if I've done that? Will my fate be the same?

The film was released in 1998. I could still remember bits of it till today. It's really a good film to watch. And it really gets you thinking. Cos some things that happened can be the same even if you've chose a different route. Some things may end up differently. But it seems like the things which will happen will still happen, just in a different order of life. It's difficult for me to explain unless you've watched the film before.

Watch Sliding Doors on Youtube. Just click here.

A synopsis of the film taken from Wikipedia:

The film follows Helen Quilley (Gwyneth Paltrow), who has just been fired from her public relations job. The plot splits into two parallel universes, based on the two paths her life could take depending on whether she catches a London Underground train or not.

In the timeline in which she makes the train, she meets James (John Hannah) on the underground and they strike up a conversation. She gets home in time to catch her boyfriend Gerry (John Lynch) in bed with his ex-girlfriend Lydia (Jeanne Tripplehorn); she dumps him and moves in with her friend Anna (Zara Turner). James continues to serendipitously pop into Helen's life, cheering her up and encouraging her to start her own public relations firm. She and James fall in love despite Helen's reservations about beginning another relationship so soon after her ugly breakup with Gerry.

In the timeline in which she misses the train, she then hails a taxi instead but a man tries to snatch her handbag. Helen hits her head in the scuffle and goes to hospital. She arrives home late, giving Lydia time to leave. Helen carries on with her life oblivious of Gerry's infidelity, and works part-time jobs to pay bills. Gerry conceals his infidelity and juggles the two women in his life; Lydia even interacts with Helen on several occasions. Helen has a number of conflicts with Gerry, then discovers she's pregnant with his baby, but delays telling him.

In the first timeline, Helen discovers she's pregnant with James' child and goes to see him at his office. She is stunned to learn from James' secretary that he is married. Upset, she disappears. James finds her on a bridge and explains that he was married but is now separated and planning to divorce. He and his soon-to-be ex-wife maintain a cordial relationship for the sake of his sick mother.

In the second timeline, Helen tells Gerry she has a job interview with an international PR firm. Thinking Helen is at the interview, Gerry sees Lydia, who is also pregnant with his child. While there, the doorbell rings and Lydia tells Gerry to answer it. Helen is there, and is stunned when Lydia tells her she can't do the interview because she's "deciding whether or not to keep your boyfriend's baby."

In both timelines, she is in an accident, goes to the hospital and loses the baby. In the timeline in which she caught the train, she dies in the arms of her newfound love. In the timeline in which she didn't, she recovers and tells Gerry to leave for good. Before waking up, she sees flashes of the other Helen's life.

In the final scene (now taking place solely in the "missed the train" universe), James is leaving the hospital after visiting his mother, and Helen is leaving after ending her relationship with Gerry. Helen drops an earring in the elevator and it is picked up by James. This mirrors the start of the film, where James picks up Helen's earring on the elevator after Helen is fired from her job. Before the doors close, James tells Helen to cheer up, and repeats his line, "You know what the Monty Python boys say..." Helen (who, in the beginning of the film, assumed the rejoinder to be "always look on the bright side of life.") says, "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition." She and James stare at one another, surprised by her response as the doors close, leaving the audience to speculate upon the outcome.

Is this the making by god?

I was standing by the road and waiting for a cab for almost 15min. Then I received a call from Beeie telling me to wait for another 10min and he'll be here to pick me. The moment I agreed and walked to the void deck, in less than 2mins, 3 cabs appeared from nowhere, ready for hiring.. When I reached the void deck and sat down, within another 3min, another 3 cabs came by. How do I know? The road is right in front of me. The 2 cabs even stopped right in front of me beside the void deck where I'm sitting. As I'm writing this post, 2 more went past.

This made me wonder, is this god-made (fated)? It's fated that I need to wait for 30min. 15min of cab waiting and 15min waiting for Beeie.. Does this mean that if Beeie is not coming, I'll have to wait for 30min for a cab? It really starts to make me wonder..

This again reminds me of the show "Sliding Doors" starring Gwyneth Paltrow.. It's all about fate and destiny.. Everything in life has been predestined.. My cab waiting is a good example of this statement..

小叮当的大结局 (Doraemon's Ending Story)

I suddenly thought of an image which I've seen in one of my emails regarding Doraemon's Ending and had the urge to find out more. I ended up crying while reading the story and the chinese comic strip. I can't help it.. It's so touching! Especially to someone who's in love with Doraemon! I cried for 15 full minutes and used up more than 10 pieces of tissue.

Then I decided I shall share the story with those who are interested.

Story is taken from here

Attached link to Youtube video of the English version comic strip:here

One day, a very normal day, Nobita came back from school and went upstairs of his house. Doraemon was there sleeping, just like the other normal day. “Hey, Doraemon, please wake up, let’s play! ” But Doraemon did not wake up. Nobita thought that Doraemon was tired, so he went out to play with Shizuka-chan and other folks.

After few hours, he returned to his home, but Doraemon was still sleeping. Nobita felt something strange, and tried to wake him up. But there was no reply. He became afraid, and tried to wake him up, but whatever he did, Doraemon did not wake up. Nobita exactly knew that something was different. This never happened before. He began crying, but no matter how he screamed or cried, the famous fat-cat-robot did not make a single move at all. He came up with one idea, and jumped into his desk, got into the time machine, and went to the future to meet Dorami-chan, Doraemon’s sister.

He begged Dorami-Chan for help, and forced her to go with him back to 1998. After a short trip again back to 1998 by the time machine, Dorami-chan looked all over his brother Doraemon to see what was wrong with him. After few minutes, she said “the battery is out” Nobita was relieved, and said, “Battery? So he is not broken right? Please replace or recharge his battery, and put him back like before.” But Dorami-chan shook her head and said, “Nobita-san, should I really do that?”

Nobita said “What? What do you mean?” Dorami-chan replied, “His main battery is here, close to his pocket. And it ran out. But originally, he had a back-up battery in his ears, but as you know, his ears were eaten by a rat many years ago, so he does not have a back-up battery now”

“So what do you mean?” “I mean, if I replace his battery, every memory of you will be eternally lost from his brain program.” “WHAT?????” “Shall I do that?” Nobita closed his eyes. He cried, but after few minutes, he stopped crying, and quietly told Dorami-chan, “Dorami-chan, thanks for coming here. I will take care of the rest. You have to go back to your future time now.” Dorami-chan could not decide what to do, but anyway she hugged Nobita quietly, and she went back home. After she went back, Nobita carried Doraemon and placed him into the shelf.

…………TIME FLIES……….

Year 2010, Nobita grew up. Since that day, he had changed. He studied hard, did not cry anymore, and he lived without Doraemon. He told Shizuka and other folks that Doraemon had to go back to his future, and could not meet him anymore. Shizuka was impressed with Nobita’s mysterious appearance which became completely different from 10years ago. They fell in love, and married. Nobita became a scientist. He made a laboratory in his room, and was studying hard with his job all day. He told Shizuka not to come into the room, as it was very dangerous inside.

One fine day, Nobita called Shizuka and told her to come into his room. It was the first time for her to enter her husband’s room. The moment she went in, she lost her words……There was her friend, Doraemon, that she used to play in her childhood days. Doraemon was not moving. It seemed like he was sleeping. “Look, Shizuka, I will plug in from now.” Nobita turned on the main switch on Doraemon…

Doraemon quietly, very quietly started to open his eyes. It was the moment the inventor of Doraemon became clear. It was Nobita. He studied hard and hard just to meet and talk with his old friend again. Going back and forth of time, Nobita was the one who made Doraemon. He discovered all the programs and architecture of Doraemon-type-robot. Nobita and Shizuka was crying gently. Doraemon opened his eyes. He looked around, and finally said: “Nobita-kun, have you finished your homework?”

There was the same white cloud in the sky like the times they used to spend together.
